About
Richard joined Emerging Elites as an eighth grader in the spring of 2022. He plays hockey on top of running and is eager to get better at both sports.

Indoor 2023
Richard wanted to test out his speed going into the indoor season, so he ran the 400m and the 800m at the Youth Pre Nationals Tune Up. He came away with PRs of 57.39 for 400m and 2:11 for 800m. Two weeks later he ran the mile in a PR of 4:42. Later in the season Richard had some breakout races, running 2:05 for 800m and 2:46 for 1000m. These times qualified Richard for the Freshman mile and 800m at New Balance Nationals Indoor. |
Indoor 2023
Richard came into the outdoor season with a newfound sense of confidence in his ability from the indoor season. He kicked off the season by running the 800m in a new personal best of 2:03.10. A few weeks later at the first Battle Road Twilight Meet he ran 4:22 over 1500m, then dropped that time to 4:20 two weeks later. Richard set a new personal best in the mile (4:44.04) at the Adrian Martinez Classic. He qualified for the Freshman mile and 800m at New Balance Nationals where he ran two solid races. |
