Owen joined the Emerging Elites summer 2023 program to challenge himself as a runner and strengthen his aerobic base.

Summer 2022

Prior to his senior cross country season Owen was invited to race at the Tommy Cochary High School Mile in August where he went on to run the mile in 4:43, a huge pr.

Cross Country 2022

Due to cartilage inflammation in his chest, Owen was sidelined for 3 weeks. But he returned to set a lifetime best in the 5K at the Twilight Invitation cross country meet, where he ran 16:52. He went on to place 14th at the MIAA Division sectional championship to qualify for the MIAA state meet.

Indoor 2023

Owen opened the indoor season by running 4:47 in the mile at the Holiday Invitational and 1:28.92 in the 600m at the Northeast Invitational. Owen peaked at just the right time running 1:24.5 at the MIAA Invitational. A week later at the MIAA Division 5 sectionals, he ran a lifetime personal best of 1:23.8 to finish 2nd in Division 5. Owen would go on to run 2:02 in the 800m at the TRACK at New Balance’s Night at the Track Meet. He decided to test out some shorter distances and went on to run another personal best in the 400m at New Balance Nationals, clocking in at 51.78.

Outdoor 2023

Owen started his outdoor season strong with a personal best of 2:00.73 at the Tri-Valley Meet League Championships. Then, at the MIAA State Relays, he split 50.5 seconds over 400m, en route to a meet record and school SMR record of 3:37. Owen headed into the Battle Road Track Club’s 3rd Twilight Meet with momentum. He ran 4:12.36 in the 1500m, closing his final 400m in 63 seconds. Owen ran in the open/combined scholastic mile section at the Adrian Martinez Classic and boldly ran a new mile PR of 4:38.40. Owen and his SMR team at Dover Sherborn High School went on to Nike Outdoor Nationals where he raced the 800m leg in his team’s SMR. He anchored Dover Sherbon to a 6th place finish and an all-American finish in a split of 2:00 for 800m.
