Macey likes to run everything from short sprints to middle distance to long trail races in Vermont. She loves her time at the gym and doing activities like rock climbing, hiking, skiing and surfing. While Macey likes trying different sports, her favorite thing to do is to run fast.

Indoor 2022 |
Macey started her indoor season in style, running 5:32 in the mile for a 2nd-place finish at the MSTCA Auerbach Invitational. At the Patriot League Indoor Championships, she won the 2 mile in 11:52. The following week, she set a PR in the 2 mile (11:26.87), having raced to a 3rd-place finish at the MIAA Division 2 Championships. A week later, she finished 17th in the 2 mile at the MIAA Meet of Champions as a freshman. |
Spring 2022 |
Macey set a personal best in the mile when she ran 5:13.69 for the runner-up spot at the Patriot League Championship. The next week, Macey set a PR in the 2 mile by running 11:41.06 at the MSTCA South Shore Twilight Invitational at Norwell High School. Macey lowered her personal best in the mile, running 5:11.8 and finishing 4th in the MIAA Division 3 Championship. These times qualified her for the girls freshman mile at Nike Outdoor Nationals where she set a 3 second PR of 5:08 and finished 9th among freshman girls at the meet. |
Cross Country 2022 |
Macey opened her cross country season on September 10 with a 3rd-place finish at the Martha’s Vineyard Invitational with a 19:26 5K. Subsequently, she breezed through the scholastic competition, winning the Catholic Memorial Invitational at Franklin Park in 19:29.6. Macey went on to win the Patriot League Cross Country Championships in 19:09. She finished 3rd at the MIAA Division 1 Sectional Championships in 18:55, and finished 13th at the MIAA Division 1 Cross Country Championships to cap off a strong sophomore season. |
Indoor 2023 |
Macey improved her times in nearly every race of her indoor season. She dropped her 1000m time from 3:04 on December 8 to 2:55 at the MIAA Meet of Champions on February 25. In a field of experienced runners, she endured a physically demanding race and finished 2nd in the state with a new personal best. She dropped her mile time from 5:09 on January 15 to 5:03 on February 18, and finished 2nd in the mile at the MIAA Division 2 Championships. Macey was also the Patriot League champion in the mile. Her performances qualified her for the championship 400m, 800, and mile. She ran the 400m at New Balance Nationals with a 59.07 PR, and set another PR in the 800m with a time of 2:15.60. |
Outdoor 2023 |
Macey was selected for the 2023 USATF U18 Mountain Running team along with Emerging Elites teammate Charlotte Tuxbury. It was an honor for her to represent team USA on a world stage. She competed at the International U18 Mountain Running Cup in Annecy, France on May 27. The race was on a 4.6km course with 230 meters (754 ft) of elevation gain and descent. She ran 27:06 and finished 46th in the world for the U18 division. In a quick turnaround, Macey dropped down from distance and altitude to run the 800m at the Battle Road Twilight meet where she ran 2:17.23 for an outdoor personal best. Macey finished her sophomore season with a solid performance in the fastest heat of the scholastic mile at the Adrian Martinez Classic. |
Indoor 2024 |
Macey Shriner started her competitive indoor season at the BU Terrier meet in the 800m with a new lifetime PR of 2:13.06! What a season opener. She then ran the mile at the BU Scarlet & White meet in 5:02.69 a new lifetime PR. Macey then shifted her focus to the 1000m for the remainder of her scholastic season. She captured the 1000m Patriot League title in a new PR of 2:58.16. Macey was eager to see how she could compete at the MIAA state level and won the MIAA Division 2 1000m in a blistering 2:54.95 for a massive PR. This was Macey’s first state title! The following week Macey placed 4th overall at the MIAA Meet of Champions in the 1000m, running 2:57.30 for 4th place. Macey concluded her indoor season at NBNI running the 400m in 59.34 and the 800m in 2:14.98. |
Outdoor 2024 |
Macey opened her season at the Trials of Miles at Icahn Stadium in the 800m and started her season off with a bang by running 2:13.70 for an outdoor PR and nineth place overall. Not a bad way to open! Returning to Boston, Macey then competed at the Battle Road Twilight meet #1 and #2, running the 800m at the first meet and lowering her PR to 2:11.91 and at the second meet, Macey ran the 200m in 27.16 and the 1000m to a new lifetime PR of 2:53.96. Macey was excited to see her growth and wanted to challenge herself to 2 different races at Battle Road Twilight #3 and she paired her 800m of 2:14.87 with the 400m in 58.84. Macey then wanted to try her hand at the mile at the Adrian Martinez Classic, running 5:02.35 for a new lifetime PR. After a season of new PRs, Macey carried this momentum into NBNO where she closed out her outdoor season in the Championship 800m in Philadelphia. Macey was pumped to compete at Franklin Field and raced her way to a new lifetime PR of 2:10.84! |
