| During his limited free time, JD is happiest when given the personal liberty of being outdoors, enjoying nature. Given a free weekend, JD would happily drive to Mt. Katahdin in Maine to go hiking and appreciate the seclusion this spot has to offer. There he is free to observe the absence of the ambient sounds of civilization and tune into the sounds of rushing water or birds chirping. Much like when he runs cross country, the only thing he hears is himself breathing and his next footsteps. Both hiking and cross country allow him to temporarily step away from his own thoughts and enjoy the moment he is living. |
