About
I originally started running due to my brother, during middle school I didn't do any athletics but one day, about halfway through the summer, my brother convinced me to go to cross country practice with him. It was horrible. It was an easy day yet after 100m of running I had been dropped. The rest of the run consisted of getting dropped, my brother and the other person he was running with waiting for me to catch up, and then getting dropped again. I promised myself that I would never do that again yet the next day when my brother asked if I wanted to go to practice with him I said yes. That cross country season I didn't race but if I had, I most likely would have run in the 23-25 minutes. The indoor and outdoor track season that year was a mess, mostly because of COVID. The indoor season got completely canceled, with no races or practice but every day I still ran 4 miles by myself, and 6 miles every Saturday. During the outdoor season, we raced in masks. During that season I ran ~6:30 for the mile and ~13:30 for the 2 mile. That summer was my first very large jump in fitness. Under Coach Tim Broe I improved my 5k time down to ~19:00. After around a month of practices we had a workout that ended with a hard mile on the track. In that mile, I PR'd by ~30 seconds. The next cross-country season, under Coach Colin Corkery I had another large jump in fitness and opened up the season at Wrentham running 17:06 in the 5k. This past cross-country season was disappointing in terms of running performance but I am excited to make a comeback in my final track seasons while running for Emerging Elites.
Outside of running, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, and biking. I also love to cook and bake and have a newfound hobby in making and tasting different types of coffee from all over the world. My favorite subjects in school are math, physics, and engineering.
