Indoor 2022

Jack joined Emerging Elites for the winter of 2022-2023. He opened up his season at the MSTCA Boston Holiday Classic where he ran 5:08.91. A few weeks later he went under 5 minutes for the first time at the MSTCA Auerbach Freshman-Sophmore Meet where he set a 14 second PR, running 4:54.82. His rapid improvement would continue as he ran 4:47.56 in the mile to secure a fifth place finish in the Tri-Valley League. Jack went on to place 5th at the MIAA Div 5 Championship in the 2 mile, setting a new PR of 10:17.10 in the process. With his new mile PR, Jack qualified for the freshman mile section at both New Balance Nationals and Nike NSAF Indoor Nationals. The two meets were not far from each other so he decided to run in both. Jack ran the freshman mile at both events where he clocked in a 4:53.49 in his first attempt at Nike Outdoor Nationals. However, Jack was hungry for more. On a day when the Armory was packed with fans and roaring with energy, Jack blazed to a 4:43.18 Mile personal best and set a Dover-Sherborn Freshman School Record in the event.

Outdoor 2022

Jack wanted to build upon his prior success from his freshman indoor season heading into outdoors. Jack kicked off his outdoor campaign at the Tri-Valley League’s opener where he ran 4:50.15 to start the season. Jack then lowered his previous PR to 4:42.72 on April 12th in a dual meet against Norton at Dover-Sherborn High School. Jack took advantage of a fast field at the MSTCA Coaches Twilight Invitational where he cruised to another personal best of 4:37.61 for the mile to finish 3rd. At this meet Jack also helped his 4 x 800m team secure a third place finish and qualify for states. Jack’s mile time qualified him for the freshman section of the mile once again at New Balance Nationals. Jack would go on to finish 35th in the freshman boys mile with a time of 4:55.84 in less than ideal conditions.

Cross Country 2022

Coming off a strong summer of training, Jack was ready to have a standout Cross Country season. Despite battling knee pain due to his rapidly growing joints, Jack finished 3rd in 16:58 in his opener at the MSTCA Bob Glennon Twilight Invitational for Small & Medium Schools. A week later Jack ran a blistering 16:21 at the Tri-Valley League Championships to finish 7th. Jack finished 8th in 16:52 at the MIAA Division 2 sectional Championships to qualify for the MIAA State Cross Country Championships where he finished 29th to cap off his season.
