Indoor 2023

Griffin joined Emerging Elites for the winter program of 2022-2023. After getting in some strong training, Griffin ran his first race of the season at the 2023 Night at The TRACK #3 where he debuted in the mile, running 5:13. The following week Griffin further lowered his mile PR when he ran 5:10 at the USATF-NE Indoor Meet.

Outdoor 2023

Griffin looked to build upon his momentum heading into the outdoor season. On April 10th Griffin had a solid effort in which he set a 10 second personal best and almost broke 5 minutes for the first time in the mile, running 5:00.3 at the St. John's Prep vs BC High dual meet on April 4th. A few weeks later Griffin set a PR in the 800m, running 2:13.1 at the annual Xaverian Vs. BC High rivalry meet. Griffin finally broke 5 minutes at the Boys Catholic Conference Classic where he ran 4:56.89 to finish 4th. The following day Griffin ran the 1500m at the Battle Road Twilight Meet #2 where he clocked in a time of 4:30.61 for 1500m. Griffin then ran a huge personal best in the 800m, 2:09.86, at the third Battle Road Twilight Meet. Griffin continued to show improvement when he ran 4:50.57 in the mile at the Adrian Martinez Classic to cap off a season of steady progress.
