About
Growing up I played a variety of sports. From 1st grade through my freshman year in high school I played year-round town and club soccer and lacrosse. My freshman year in high school I played on my school's soccer and varsity lacrosse teams. In the winter time, I played town and travel basketball and skied whenever I had time. Besides sports I really enjoy baking desserts, travelling, surfing, and spending time with my friends and family.
After running indoor track her freshman year, Charlotte had a breakthrough season of track her sophomore year. During her sophomore indoor season, Charlotte broke 2:20 for 800m and 3:00 for 1000m and lowered her mile PR to 5:02. Charlotte qualified and ran a few events at NBNI to get her first experience racing at nationals.
Looking forward to her sophomore outdoor season, and her first spring not playing lacrosse, Charlotte set her sights on racing her first high school outdoor track season. Charlotte was invited to race at the Bay State Running / HOKA Invitational Mile, and not wanting to waste the opportunity to race in a fast, talented field, Charlotte competed her way to her first sub-5:00 mile, running 4:59.50. She followed this up by running 4:57.89 at the Bay State Conference Championships, her second time going sub-5:00 in the month of May.
On the merits of her cross country and track success, combined with her overall athleticism, Charlotte was selected to compete for Team USA at the International U18 Mountain Running Cup in Annecy, France on Saturday, May 27. In her first mountain race of her life, Charlotte raced her way to 8th overall and helped secure Team USA’s silver medal team, finishing only one point behind Team Spain.
Fresh off her trip to Annecy, Charlotte returned to Massachusetts to race in the MIAA Meet of Champions. Racing the 800m from the unseeded section, Charlotte ran a sparkling 3 second PR of 2:15.44, fast enough for second place overall. Excited by her fitness, Charlotte also raced the mile at the MIAA Meet of Champions, lowering her mile PR another 2 seconds to 4:55.89, again for second overall.
To tune-up for NBNO, Charlotte raced the Scholastic Girls Mile at the Adrian Martinez Classic on Saturday, June 10, capturing first place in 4:59.52, her fourth sub-5:00 mile of the season. After she wrapped up exams, Charlotte hit the road to Philadelphia for NBNO to race the Rising Stars 800m and Championship mile. The mile was first up on Saturday night and with the delays in the meet schedule, Charlotte ended up racing after 11pm and ran 5:05.82. Determined to have a better showing in the 800m on Sunday, Charlotte ran 2:21.71.
Charlotte was eager to take on more trail racing and at the encouragement of her Team USA teammates, Charlotte went to Salida, Colorado for the 2023 National High School Trail Championships. Covering 5.4 miles and topping out at 7,558ft, with lots of switchbacks, technical ascents and fast descents, Charlotte was eager to take this race on to check her summer fitness. Charlotte placed fifth overall in 39:40 in only her second trail race and cemented her love for running on the trails.
