I first started skating when I was 3 years old, and started playing hockey when I was around 7. At first I played for my town and then I switched to club and stayed that way for the past 6 years. When I was younger I played forward but when I was 11 I switched to defense. I always enjoyed playing and it has always been my number one sport. I played soccer from preschool to my freshman year, but I stopped after I began running track.

Before last year I had never really ran in my life. I had always done soccer in fall and spring, and hockey in the winter. I wanted to try something new so I chose track and field. I ran the 400m and the 4x400 relay (I was the third leg). At the beginning of the season it was really hard because I had never run before and I wasn’t in shape for running coming out of hockey season. Even though I was bad, I still enjoyed running and wanted to keep doing it. After the first meet I started to get better and my time started dropping. I went to the ISL championships and placed fourth in the 400m and my team got first in the 4x400m relay. The following week at New Englands I placed eight in the 400m and my team placed 4th in the 4x400m.
