About

I started running in the fall of my 7th grade year. After the first day, I immediately fell in love with the sport of running. Even though I got injured; which put a stop to half of my season, I kept training. Eventually, I ran my first race at the Massachusetts Middle School State meet, placing 12th for my age group. That made me want to run more. I kept running, and finished my 7th grade year, ready to run next year.

Starting my 8th grade XC season, I ran an amazing race by finishing 1st at the Martha's Vineyard Invitational JV race with a time of 18:50. With that awesome run behind me, I wanted to be top 7. What I didn't know was that my very next 5K race would be my first sub 18 minute performance with a time of 17:50 at the Twilight Invitational finishing 2nd in the JV race. A week later, I ran the B.A.A. 's Boston Middle School Cross Country Championship finishing first.

I then moved on to indoor track and kept improving, not knowing I'd PR in the mile 5 times from 5:20 down to qualifying for New Balance Nationals Indoor and running my first sub 5 minute mile placing 23rd with a time of 4:57. An interesting fact about my middle school career is that I was invited twice to run in B.A.A 's Invitational Middle School 1000m during the Boston Marathon Weekend. Something cool and unexpected is that I'm a part of Tracksmith's documentary about Boston Public Schools's cross country team qualifying for the state meet for the first time in over 100 years.

I also have a life outside of running too. I love music and have an ear for it. I'm an expert in percussion and played the drums for 5 years but stopped. As much as I want to travel, I can't because of all the schoolwork I have. I used to play many sports like baseball and basketball. I like to play football but I'm not good enough for the high school team. I'm also a great golfer that's played for 10 years. My favorite course to play is George Wright in Hyde Park. I recently started teaching golf over the summer and sometimes in the spring. Some other things I like to do are playing games of any kind, hanging out with friends, playing with my dog, and of course, eating and sleeping/resting, also known as doing nothing.
